Giuseppe Benedetto’s passion for glass
  
In 1993 Mr. Benedetto, an Italian native, opens the Verrerie d’art Touverre inc., in the beautiful Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean region. Although it is very young, it is already compared to the Murano (Venise) glass works. Touverre develops over forty different products and has an exceptional stock in the glasswork field. Provided with a workshop, a boutique and an art gallery, the glass work factory offers a broad range of objects with a regional flavor: whales, blueberries or various fruits, lamps, perfume holders and various others which were crafted according to the artist’s inspiration. Giuseppe Benedetto even pushes his art to blending matter, assembling aluminum and granite to glass, to oppose hardness and fragility with a subtlety, which is distinctive of his.
